I wake up. It's dark. I'm thinking I still have some "warm" time until afternoon, cuz isn't that what the weather people say? Nope. Thirty miles and 20 degrees later, I'm cold. oops. And wet! DANG. Stop telling me about an 80% chance of showers later when I can't even see out of my windshield because it's raining so hard ( Read more... )

I really do think you need to stop keeping up with the news. Or read theonion.com or npr.org, where they don't talk about dismembered body parts.

I listen to NPR in the car ... and I do read the print version of the Onion when I have time ...

Every once in awhile, I need a break from the news.

as far as the the heads of the victims found in ice chest, at least, THEY WERE IN ICE CHESTS... would it have been better to just drop them (naked severed heads) in the dust and dirt and heat of mexico and have someone just walking by see that horror? ick. the heat of mexico + severed head(/s) = brutal scene. may i say ick? double ick!! triple ick!!!

all drug cartels are known for terrible violence.

it's not all that hot here today. :-) sorry you were drenched in the 20%. blah.

and yeah, you DO need a different surfing map. maybe there's a cheerfulnews.com or something. :-)

Yeah, see. I see it exactly the opposite. If I come across ice chests, I'm thinking there was a party. I'm thinking there may be beer in there or something... not body parts. Ice chests are supposed to be innocent picnic supplies... not a horrific scene. I don't think I'll be opening anything I come across in a long time. I'll just call the police. If they find beer, they can have it.
