Oh my goodness, I loved this so much! Severus was beautifully written, a perfect balance of snarling-Snape and not-quite-Sappy. And Hermione! So bad ass. I can't wait to find out who you are so I can badger you about more fics :D :D :D
Thank you! I'm so so pleased to get a review like this from someone as into the pairing as you are. I really wanted this to be pitch perfect since it was my debut in the pairing as it were, so I'm thrilled to death you liked it. <3
Lol, it's true! When it first went up, I was sitting there wringing my hands, and generally fretting in serendipity513's direction, and then you reviewed and she told me, "See. Christa likes it. And she should know. IT'S FINE."
Very nice :D I absolutely adore that Luna is the head of the Department of Mysteries, and that the Rotfang Conspiracy was real! And OMG, that she's L just made me smile - so adorable!
The ring saying 'Partners Eternally' was such a lovely touch, and very Snape, no big sappy love scene. I also love the whole spy angle, with Harry and Ron representing the less covert authorities...
I like that Hermione fell for Jack the Ripper's trap in a typical Gryffindor sort of way, but then she was still able to stun him while suffering from severe blood loss - epic ;)
And what a creative blend of the Tales of Beadle the Bard with Jack the Ripper - terrifying, which made the end that much more satisfying :D
Oh, and Snape and Hermione treating their wedding like a dangerous mission (you can't escape from the baby Potters now, Severus!) and Hermione calling him Sev to annoy him...lovely :D
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you liked it, and really appreciate that you took the time to read since it's (I think?) outside your usual port of call.
I'm really glad Hermione walking into Ripper's trap rang true to you, because I was a little worried about that part!
An interesting story, with a new take on Jack the Ripper, full of wonderful descriptions such as 'red lights like blades of blood'. Full of angst and drama and romance and plenty of lols; 'and 1, 918 cups of tea later' stands out as an example of the latter. Good Snape characterisation, particulary ' irritated and concerned and then further irritated by his concern'. 'He found it was helpful to approach things as if he had suddenly been propelled into the future, rather than forgotten his past' was wonderfully insightful and perfect. Great Hermione characterisation too, intelligent and practical but not faultless. My favourite bit was this: 'Severus was surprised to find he mourned the loss of the man he would never be again. He wondered if Granger missed him too.' Way to tug on the heartstrings. I also fully expected him to regain his memory by the close of the fic; a brave choice to not go that route :D
I'm so glad you enjoyed the little details and the characterization, especially as I know this isn't your usual pairing. I put a lot of research and work into this fic, so it's really great for someone to notice the little things.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and review bb. <3
I have to say that I didn't leave a review for each chapter because I was too eager to get to the next chapter and read more. I love this story! I love that they grew into their relationship as working colleagues. Truly a shock to Hermione that that years-long relationship was taken away by a madman's spell. Very mysterious of you to keep their Unspeakable experiment a secret from us, perhaps as your next SSHG story. You didn't even tell us any more about the madman wizard or the barrister!
I am amazed at how well you wove this story with Hairy Heart and Ripper lore. I gasped when I saw the London city map and the infinity sign; I checked online to make sure that the Ripper map was REALLY the Ripper map.
Poor Draco; what an explanation for his loss of hair. Glad you are matching Luna with Kingsley, two underused characters in the HP books.
Thank you for this very impressive story. I've saved it for rereading.
Thank you! I'm so very glad you liked it. I was quite nervous when it went up, to be honest.

Lol, that you can blame on the time crunch. I had to write this in 8 days in order to have enough time left over for my betas before the fic was due at the exchange I wrote it for.
That being said, I do have vague ideas for 3 more stories within this universe of similar length. <3

I may do more SS/HG in the future. I have vague ideas for 3 or so companion pieces within this universe. <3
