I occasionally see junk like this in the logs on my web server. 90+% of the time it's someone or somebot trying a 5+ year old IIS (short for "It Is Shit") exploit (Code Red or nimda, anyone?), a standard buffer overflow, or trying to tickle a service module that I'm not running. The config on my web server is pretty stripped down for exactly that reason - less shit running = less shit to try to break into.
