Hi! I'm new here.

Anyway, I have a question regarding SSB Melee. In the Home Run contest who is the best character to use, and what would be a good way to break 1,300 ft? I have had the best success with Ganondorf, but never got over 1,114...

(btw, I haven't unlocked Mewtwo or Game and Watch yet)

If you wanna break 1,300 ft, my bro uses Yoshi and he did the down+A attack while in the air. Got over 1,700 ft that way.

Yes. However, it takes practice to do it successfully with Yoshi. You have to have great timing and some pretty good skill with a tiny jump and a quick down + A in mid-air.

I'm sure there's also more characters you can get over 1,300 ft.. I'll check it sometime tonight and will tell you with who else I've done it with and how. :)

The yoshi idea is the best...my roommate got 1600 ft with the down + a while in air move.

As for Ganon, I managed to get 1500 feet. What I did was a full charged up smash while on ground (double up kick), which brought it up to 53%, then I did his down + A while in air, which spiked it to the ground, did another ground up smash, no charge though, then spiked it again. While doing all this I already had the bat in my hand, then I hit it with the bat.

Yes, this too also works. But be sure to kick @ the right time!

That sounds like a lot. When I do his up + A the second time, the announcer starts counting down, and I usually only have time to smack it with the bat. I'll try it out though. Thanks :)
