I love this character. The Gideon bashing makes me sad sometimes, especially when people follow up with negative fic about him, but I can understand why people dislike him. Personally, however, I think he's awesome. :D

Makes me MAJOR sad. I think its 1 part sour grapes, 1 part backlash against the initial Rossi bashing (which is just immature, okay, I like Gideon way better than Rossi, but Rossi is cool (Hotch's work husband!!!), and consider Gideon/Rossi, didn't they know each other from way back?), and 1 part knee jerk reaction post Carl Buford's cabin reveal. Superficially speaking, I get the knee jerk, especially since I suspect that some of the knee-jerkers in question might have been victims of similar themselves, but upon closer look, it's different because

...and OF COURSE, in that Gideon the Death Eater fic in which Gideon started the BAU sexual abuse of Reid (wtf?), it started at Gideon's cabin.
