Summary: This is the dinner Jared invited his friends to for catching up.
It was a month since Jared had met his friends at the award party and he had invited them for a dinner. Today it was the day and they were coming to eat. If he had been nervous earlier he wasn't any less now. Jared was happy he had decided to order the food instead of making it. If he would have done it he was sure he would have made every possible wrong he could.
He had checked the food a few times, even if he wouldn't need to when he had it in the oven for keeping it warm. Jared had also gone back and forth checking his clothes. The last month he really had tried to get an extra effort to loose some of the pounds he gained, but as he had weight himself it didn't look like anything had happened. Maybe it only had moved around some, as he actually seemed to use one hole further in on his belt.
Jared knew that some of his nervousness had to depend on that now he could not be vague about he been up too and they would probably not stop with the easy way. Being home made that no one that shouldn't learn about it could hear. Then he didn't want to hide anything for his friends, even if there were things that were really sensitive.
He took a look at his watch, for the umpteen time. They should arrive any minute now. He took a look at the dinner table and there weren't anything to change or that he had forgotten. Jared wondered who would arrive first or last or if they would come all at the same time. He rather wanted them come together, but he more guessed that Misha probably arrive last.
Jared went to check the food in the oven again, but was cut from the door bell. He changed direction and went for opening the door. On the other side stood Jeff Dean Morgan. Jared saw how Misha turned up too, so his guess that he would come last wasn't correct. He had the time to wonder where Jensen where before he welcomed Jeff. He stood left in the door until Misha could join them as well.
When there where a few minutes left to the time Jared had invited the guys, he offered them a beer until Jensen came. They let the talk stay at the usual chitchat of weather, how their favourite team done and some work. They managed to get quite long into it before Jensen turned up.
"I'm so fucking sorry I'm late." Jensen said as Jared opened the door for him. "I saw that the others already here, I do hope you started eating."
"Hello to you too," Jared said when Jensen finally stopped talking. "Actually we waited for you."
"Please don't let me stop us for starting any longer then." Jensen said and just walked straight to where he guessed they would be seated. He greeted Misha and Jeff and Jared could set the food on the table. When the guys thought they were finished with the usual chat they asked Jensen what made him delayed.
"Nothing special," he began but before any of them could say anything he added, "I don't want to talk about it."
No one pushed knowing Jensen would enlighten them as soon as he was ready. He seldom could keep things in for long.
The dinner seemed to fly well. It wasn't as awkward to comeback to almost the same as they once been. Jared felt that he really had missed them. He sat there regretting that he had left most of his friends go as he became sick. Of course they came to also talk about him.
"Why did you not let us know what actually happened to you?" Jeff asked.
"For a few months everything got too much. And at the worst period I was actually admitted to the psyche." Jared swallowing, the last he hadn't told so many. "I felt ashamed and then when it went from bad to terrible with Genevieve I felt that any that remind me of her became too much for me to recover."
"I did call several times. You could at lest once picked p the phone." Jensen said and he looked really anxious. "I actually thought I done something wrong."
"No, no. Over a time I barley talked to anyone." Jared looked directly on Jensen. "For a time it felt like I had no energy to anything and I was very depressed."
"You obvious are much better now." Jeff stated aloud and broke the contact Jared had get with Jensen for a moment.
"There really was a rollercoaster. When things went upside down, and during one and a half year of testing medication that both worked and not. Some of it drastically made me put on weight. Not getting the right one was hard." Jared took a mouth of the vine. "Though now it does seem that everything is fine. I feel more stable, but the doctors have told me there can came ups and downs. I just have to think more about me and listen to what my body is telling me." Jared stopped talking.
"That didn't get out quite right. Or maybe… I need to try to see how I behave, so I do not get into a period to work too much, sleep too little or get to listless."
"We would help you. You know that, don't you?" Misha said. "I can probably speak for us all, that we do miss you and love you for who you are."
One part of Jared know that probably all really thought so about him, but anyway he felt he had hard to get back to the person he been before. He no longer had hard to be open wide. Some that didn't know what he been through lately might just say that he had grown up. Maybe he did, but somewhere in him he actually missed the way he been able to act during the years he and the guys filmed Supernatural.
He let them talk little more about him and how he was handled things, before he managed to get them to talk little more about themselves and then what they had for future plans. What all really come to agree about were they had to keep better contact and meet soon again.
Jared felt great. Better than he had felt for a few months. One part was of course he had a nice time with his friends and another part been that he felt that they really didn't look at him differently after seeing him or learning new things about him. They seemed to be the true friends that he would not risk again to loose.
