First Rave

[So apparently there's a new machine in the hangar and one more occupancy in the White Chalice's living quarters.  If you've worked as a mercenary or hired them or fought against them, there's a chance you might recognize him.  But it's just as likely his name means nothing to you; heck, the pilot doesn't even have a cool ace nickname in spite of ( Read more... )

[After seeing a vaguely familiar mech in the hangar, Hayato checks the personnel listings and sees a vaguely familiar name.]

Hmm, interesting.

[Oh hey, look who was coming in to do some double-checking on stuff...]

I thought I'd find you here when I spotted the Tower. It's certainly been a while, hasn't it?

Not that long. What brings you here?

Same as most anyone who fights for a living, really. It's steady work, you get to see what's left of the world, and there's a certain sense of security.

Especially since it's traveling with a second carrier. Yours no less.

This should come as more of a surprise than it does.

Well, we already did this situation once at Testrun... azure_savior June 29 2011, 14:19:17 UTC
[Josh is admittedly surprised for a few moments, before brightening up and grinning.]

Calvina!

Yeah that happens sometimes. It's why I try to avoid doing First Post!s as samples now guardian_lynx June 29 2011, 16:29:39 UTC
Still finding a way into every little brushfire, I see. I didn't even know Adventus was on this continent.

Those brushfires have a habit of keeping food on the table, so I'm not complaining.

And as for those Adventus guys... eh. They might have just been trying to milk the organization's reputation for their own ends or maybe they were. But yeah, they don't really make anyone's life easier.

[Looking at the mechs today, taking pictures, deftly avoiding that one with the big red arms of course. Notices the new one.]

That one is new...

Well, depends on what you mean.

[Josh siddles up next to Tsukasa, looking up at the Aile Chevalier. It's new if you mean it just came in, but this thing's actually a few years old.

One-of-a-kind, though.

I hadn't seen it before actually. It's quite the machine though, though I'm a terrible judge of mecha age.

[He nods at Josh.] Tsukasa Kadoya. I'm the cook.

And also a photographer, judging by the camera.

I'm Joshua Radcliffe... another guy who decided to give this place a shot. Nice to meet you, Tsukasa.

[Josh is a tad surprised and confused for a moment. That video had gone out a while ago but it's the only place he imagines this guy's heard his voice before.]

You mean... from the video?

A good bit of it was just throwing out names for military hardware and things like that.

Indeed, I understood that. However, I did not recognize "Haven't actually done one of these in a while," or "scrapheap of a Tausendfuessler."

azure_savior June 30 2011, 22:18:59 UTC
Well... a Tausendfuessler is a transport carrier for robots. They're not exactly something you'd want to take into a fight, but they work well enough carrying a machine to where you want it to be. Though when they're being used by mercenaries it's more than likely repairs are hasty and little more than quick fixes half the time.

And as for the first thing, well it was a video log. Not every mercenary troupe out there has the resources to let its people do one of those.

That clear things up for you?

Well, I could probably figure things out better if I knew your name. I've done a bit of traveling and fighting; might have heard about you at some point.
