I never saw these designs before. Similar ones yes, but not exactly these types. New prototypes?

Well, some of them are. The Methuss is a prototype for testing transformation technology, for instance. The Rick Dias is a production type though, and the Hyaku Shiki's a custom order.

[Amuro happened to be on deck checking through spare parts for the Gundams when he sees that transport plane docking. At first, he thinks nothing of it, other than noting how long it's been since he's seen that class of aircraft, but there's a funny ping at the back of his head that tells him this is a case he needs to check out personally.]

[And there sure enough, unloading new mobile suits was a face he hadn't seen in just as long...]
