[ There's Char in the hangar. He's watching as the disembodied head of the MSN-02 Perfect Zeong (Char Custom) is being stripped down for parts; while the outside was singed and it smelt of charred metal, the inside components were mostly intact. And thankfully, the psycommu system and black box were completely salvageable, and could be saved ( Read more... )

Sir Char! You were not decapitated after all! My relief knows no bounds nor words to describe it!

But... your Zeong...
[Looks at the sad remains of the mobile suit.]

Decapitated? Of course not.

[ He looks down at it as well. ]

It's quite alright. I'm rather glad to see it destroyed. Piloting it brought back... bad memories.

Each time I see a machine damaged, I must remind myself that it is not the pilot who suffers the same fate. Despite knowing this, my worry was still present.

It was an old companion of yours? Regardless of good or bad memories being involved, letting go must not be easy. House Consenesco teaches that everything fades one day and we should come to peace with it...

But the teaching is hard to put into practice regardless.

Something like that, yes. This machine - or at least, the original version of it - was the same machine I piloted at the Battle of A Baoa Qu. It's where Amuro and I had our last duel. If it weren't for my sister, it's likely neither of us would have survived it.

[ Char sighed. ]

Seeing it destroyed like this takes me back to that night.

[Damn. Look at that wreckage.]

They don't build them like they used to, do they?

No... they don't. The rest of it was destroyed when the core took a direct hit.

I've... never seen anything like that before. A creature made of solid fire. It makes me miss fighting the Gundam.

DOHOHOHOHOHO! OH JOSH! YOU AND FORESHADOWING azure_savior September 16 2011, 06:28:25 UTC
Yeah... an entity of fire certainly would be a challenge to deal with. Though I guess maybe it'd burn itself out.

Or barring that, just use a big blast. When there's an oil fire, they say you use napalm to blow it out.

Interesting, considering that is what happened when the Zeong was destroyed. It's core was destabilized, causing a nuclear explosion.

Thanks for taking that beating from Core for us. [Tsukasa's tone isn't mocking but thankful.]

He could have picked any other target while the Riders were down.

It wasn't easy, but I did what I had to do. We couldn't afford to lose any members of our group.

Mmm. If I knew how to fix mecha, I'd offer to lend a hand to build a new one. But admittedly this is one part of expertise I know nothing about. [shrugs.]

That's alright. I'll find... something. I've made do before, I will again.

Feel as though you have shed yourself from Zeon, Char?

[Alexei would shake his head at the scene of Zeong being stripped.]

I'll never be truly 'shed' from Zeon. You could say it goes deeper than simply being their former ace pilot.

Then what? You look so relieved to see the destruction of this suit...

redfckngcomet September 16 2011, 19:32:59 UTC
It's the same suit I piloted at the Battle of A Baoa Qu. You could say it brings back some unsavory memories.

Adette was walking through the hanger with longing on her face. She missed being behind the controls of a metal behemoth like these, the memories of speeding over the frozen tundra, Yasuba's Rushrod at her side... she had felt so free then, like a bird who could not be caged...
but now, with out freedom, with out Yasuba, what did she have?

And then she came upon Char, and a small smirk came onto her lips.
well at least I've got something nice to look at
She strighted her blouse, and came up behind him, and whispered in his ear.
"Someone broke their toys I see."

[ Char turned to face her, only to see she was quite literally in his face. He didn't back off though; he knew how women like her worked. Running away only encourages her. ]

I did. Though doing so saved the lives of the Riders.

[ He smiled at her joke, but adjusted his expression at her praise. ]

I'm flattered. Thank you. Though, the reason I never wear a normal suit is due to the fact that I never intend to damage the mobile suit I take out. I guess it couldn't be helped this time, though.
