Bernie was simply startled; how else could you describe a flicking frog tongue heading for your face and catching a butterfly that was floating nearby.
"Oh, it's you!"
Speaking of bugs, that's where Bernie first met Tatsu. The rookie Zeon couldn't forget it: Fighting bug like bio-weapons near a research center?
Not really. Tatsu no need to actually eat. Tatsu needs maintenance and recharging once in a while but Tatsu no feel hunger. Tatsu chased the bug on instinct with a mix of the thrill of the hunt. Tatsu suppose that a little hard to understand.
Well, Dr. Stephan gave Tatsu instincts similar to many lizards to hone Tatsu's ability to fight. The natural drive to survive is there and the instinct to hunt is also programmed into Tatsu. It's why Tatsu is always calling the enemy prey. Because they are. Tatsu needs to beat them to survive. Though, Tatsu is different than most lizards as Tatsu also has some human instincts due to the Imprinting Program. Besides, it is kind of fun to chase a butterfly throughout the Chalice. It is also rewarding when Tatsu finally catch it.
