Paradigm city had shrunk in the distance behind him as he trudged forward in Big O. The city that had lost its memories, that had tried so hard to keep them lost, was now just a speck on the horizon. He and Big O had seen perhaps too much in recent past, but there were too many questions unanswered. He'd resolved to himself, and it seemed that Big ( Read more... )

[The Reccon pack that lined the middle bay of the fighter perked up. With a detection of a large moving mass, the plane rolled in for a closer look.]

*Woosh*

[The silhouette of the plane against the city was almost unnoticeable. Its jet engines were the only thing that gave it away.]

"Unidentified Unit, Can you read me?"

"Well, what do you know about magic? Odd question I know."

[It would be easier to get some of the shock dealt with before Mr. Negotiator gets to the chalice proper.]

"And there are many categories of machines used. And I'll note that yours is called a 'Megadaus'. Is that it's name or is it a class?"

[All the mechs and all there names. Aircraft are easier, there names for there jobs.]

"Magic? You're joking, right? I mean you asked if I was open-minded, but I don't believe in fairy tales..." he began. "But no, his name is Big O. He is a Megadeus. I'm his Dominus. I guess I need to learn a new set of vocabulary."

Magic. And he thought he'd seen everything today.

"Sometimes, I wish I was joking. But Magic exist, and apparently it's messing up a city. Or so I've been informed."

[Magic. Where is Clarks third law when you need it? Oh yeah, on the Chalice.]

"So, I think the Big O's size may make things hard in the city. If you get to this point, we can get a hold of someone who is working in the city. That is if you still want to help."

He shook his head, smiled defeatedly. "Okay, well, I'll head to this point, and if I can be of use, then great. Let's leave this talk of magic for later," he said, with an affirmative nod. "I suppose you'll need to get back to your Me-- your robot," he added, and motioned to the narrow door that led to the platform they had used. "I will keep a radio channel open so you can fill me in on the details of the city itself and exactly what damage has been done."

"Robot? No. It's just a simple Aircraft. I will keep com's open for you."

[The pilot leaves the big O, and starts to return to the plane.]

"Make sure your clear of the Jet blast, don't want to ruin your paint.]

"Roger that!" he replied, and thumbs-upped. Big O started to follow the plane as best he could; keeping up with a fighter jet wasn't something Roger's ever had to do.

"No need to attempt to keep up with me. I don't think I can fly low enough or you run fast enough. Just follow the map."

[The Plane speeds up and climbs until only the trail can be seen.]

"You got it," he responded. Big O lumbered toward the place marked, and in about fifteen minutes or so, arrived on the spot. "I'm here," he radioed, "though I'm certain you're already aware of that." He took a look around.

"Yes I have. You would be surprised at the view at altitude."

[The trail closed in closer, the plane was in an observable orbit around the megadeus.]

"Give me a second to call it in, and I'll have you helping in no time."
