Of course it is valid. We have always played football that way. [Resnick peels his helmet off and gives him an evaluating look. His team's short an aerospace fighter and Kincaid might be the right size to help them pull it off too...] Would you like to play?
[Michelle is standing on the sidelines of the game looking on in awe. Apparently genetically engineered supersoldiers make for rather more impressive football players than normal people.] That's really impressive...
[Resnick, who's a genetically engineered super soldier himself, though not as large as any of the elementals, peels his helmet off while the first inning is called.]
I do. We had to play it in high school once and watching the Neo Superbowl was a high point of the year. People just accepted that nobody would be productive the next day.
A break is called and Resnick peels his helmet off. "
"Why do you not teach us how it is done then? We are short a player." He says with a grin. This would be a good way for her to get to know the rest of the unit.
We have always played this way. [You should see how they play lacrosse. Resnick gave her and her legs an unabashed once over.] We are going to try a Hail Great Father play because we desperately need yards. I think you would be best as the quarter or running back...[Nods from the other warriors.]
[M1 was passing by, looking for the exit for some shore leave when she heard the attempt at music.] "What was that?" [She knew a bit about playing on breaks, and she followed the song, missed marks and all to a part of the ship she had not been before.] "Hello?" [M1 walked pass the open door, just wandering by, always cautious of new places.]
[Resnick looked up sheepishly from his computer. While he knew technically he had nothing to be ashamed of, he had a reputation as a hard-as-nails mofo to maintain, and Tchaikovsky didn't really fit in that.]
"Oh, hey Resnick. Have you hear-" [Looks over, seeing the music spread.] "Well, that answers that question. Sounds like you getting in on the music." [M1 knows a few things about music.]
Aff. I have long enjoyed classical music, and in the few months I will have before I leave here, I wish to be able to experience it as more than distant appreciation.

[He seems hesitant to push the point, since (A) this is clearly a casual game and (B) the Elementals are probably over twice his size.]

[And there aren't any refs here at all. He considers...He DID play in high school a bit, but never very seriously.]
...Sure, as long as no one throws me anywhere.

Huddle! We have a substitute for Lim. [They huddle up. They're at the thirty yard line, last down, down by seven points. Any bright ideas?]
