Directly after the mission, Hayato is standing before the smoking remains of HALO, his coat flapping in the breeze. He is surrounded by technicians and soldiers from The Tower, who are getting ready to start stripping down the remains of the legendary mecha for it's technological secrets and for spare parts

And sure enough, there are a few H.L.V.'s preparing to land in the battlefield, just as Char approached Hayato with only a few armed Zeon Royal Guard members.

"I take it you saw my report?" Char asked. "Anything else here is yours. All we want are the blade bits, and maybe some of the inner workings of those Advent drone units."

Hayato nodded to his new visitor in greeting. "I don't see any harm in giving you some of the blade bits once we've got complete scans of everything in here. I'm wringing every secret I can from this thing first, though."

"Zeon doesn't have the time or resources to waste on something as massive as HALO, so by all means, take as much of the main machine as you want. We might take some scans for R&D, but that's it."

Char remembers the first time his unit encountered lightning while pursuing White Base. That was embarrassing.

"Take your time. I'd rather this be in the hands of the Tower than the Titans getting it back." The Zeon guards seem rather skeptical of Char's decision to not hog the salvage, but he doesn't pay any attention to them.

The H.L.V.'s giant doors open, and each release a previously-unseen Mobile Suit design clearly based on the old MS-09 Dom, as well as a team of salvagers and field scientists.

"Shall we decide which side gets what, now?"

Hayato's army was fairly battered, but it was still more or less arrayed behind him. His men were edgy with all the Zeon mobile suits around.

"Seeing as how it was my forces that were here fighting while Zeon was safely in orbit, I think it's reasonable that we get first pick over the technology."

He looked up at HALO's massive foot, "But there's no reason you can't get what you want once we're done with it."
