The EDF forces attacked Aidoneus Island, which was being defended by the remnants of the DC army and their ZAFT allies. The EDF engaged the ZAFT forces, which were lead by the stolen Aegis, Blitz, Duel, and Buster Gundams. The team managed to drive off the ZAFT forces and break through the line, but before the Trionium Buster canon could be fired to disable the base, the Hagane was ambushed by Elzam, aboard the Noah-class battleship Kurogane.
Crippling the Buster Cannon and nearly sinking it, the Hagane engaged the Kurogane while the rest of the EDF forces, including Major Ingram Prisken who sortied for the battle, fought against Valsion. Valsion's powerful shield and offenses caused great damage to a number of the mechs, but in the end a concentrated effort prevailed and Valsion was taken down. The Hagane, on the other hand, was saved by quick thinking from Kurtis and Bullet, who were on standby onboard the Hagane. Kurtis was loaded into the Huckebein's Chakram Caster and launched at the Kurogane's drill before it could attack the Hagane, exploding on impact and breaking the drill away. Although Bian Zoldark was killed in the battle, Elzam and the Kurogane were able to escape.

-Eva Unit 00 lost it's right arm and will be unavailable for the next two missions.
