review of supernatural 4.19 "jump the shark"

I was a bit disappointed with this week's Supernatural episode for a few reasons.

Firstly, Adam. When I heard that the brothers were going to get a brother, I was a bit angry - wasn't it too late in the shows series to introduce such a character? And even if it was the right time, wouldn't his existence just mess up their whole apocolypse thing? ( Read more... )

LOL. 40 minute brother. I didn't actually want him around that much at all; i thought adding a new dynamic would be really inconsistent with (as you said early in the post) the whole apocalyptic storyline. I didn't think he would add anything to the story. Him being dead was the biggest plot twist ever - i was NOT expecting that. But while we did think he was the real Adam, i did start to like him as a person. Just not a permanent addition. Perhaps i agreed with Dean on that front. He didn't look like he wanted a brother either hahaha.
I think Sam treated the situation as he being the big brother to Adam, just as Dean had been to Sam all these years. That's just the impression i got, and perhaps Dean didn't want either for himself or Sam to offer that to this new kid ( ... )
