I could definitely see an argument for contracting the Clippers -- worthless court product, zero 50-win seasons or conference finals appearances in FORTY YEARS of history, and a worthless owner who intends to make sure his team never does contend. They're the Expos of the NBA, even with Blake Griffin.
If it's anything like baseball, though, the discussion will center around franchises that have recently fallen on hard times rather than just thoroughly worthless ones. Remember when we were talking about contracting the Minnesota Twins circa 2001? Six playoff appearances and five 90-win seasons since.
