I cut my noveling by half tonight because I stopped at the halfway point of what I had outlined. Still, half an outline to get me to nearly 30K is nice; I think I like just coming short of the round numbers each night, because it's something nice to hit and blow through the next night (so probably tomorrow I'll end at around 34,500 words, or ( Read more... )

I'm just happy to finally have the same first digit as you again. If you had written that additional 180 words, it would have made me struggle even harder.

You are slacking though. Aren't you usually at like 40,000 by this point?

I think I've taken four days off from writing--and it's only the 14th. Had I not have slacked, I would have been at the mythical 40K. I don't know, this year I know I'll be able to hit 50K and finish the book in the month, so I don't feel so pressed to write. 30-40K are the worst words for me, however, so I need to put my nose to the grindstone for the next week or so. Maybe I'm getting burnt out on NaNo? Nah, more likely that I have too much to do this month.
