Movies galore!

Over the last weekend, Mike and I saw three movies. Three! The first was on Friday, The Battleship Potemkin, a Russian film from the 1920s about a mutiny on a battleship during the 1905 Revolution. The moral of the story is essentially that communism wins, so wave that red flag hih and proudly! We saw it in Millennium Park, and the Grant Park ( Read more... )

No, it was a "I might as well, he's going down with the ship" way. Like she threw it all to the wind. The fact that the compass pointed to him when she was holding it that time on the little island shows that.

no... I totally disagree...

she just kissed him to trick him into locking him to the mast. the spite in her eye when she stepped away totally showed that.

You're both right, it's the whole cliche of the good girl being hopelessly attracted to bad boy thing. Sigh....poor Orlando, he's just too "nice". The only thing that can possibly happen is that one of the fellas will have to die (likely in a self sacrifice to save the others, classic hero fashion). Or will he really be dead??? Hmmmmm... maybe, maybe not. It's smarter to leave a hint of doubt for possible future movies.

p.s. I was not very impressed with this sequel. The first one was so good, and this one so... well, boring and silly (in a bad way). I hope the third is better-I really want to be pleasantly surprised.
