Well, it happened. I've gone to Hell. I'm taking all honors and AP, but I'm worried about extra curricular activities, considering all colleges I've looked online at have considered those to be "Very Important," while community service (Volunteer Work) is only "Important" or "Considered." i know, i thought that too, except that "volunteer" is a catagory that colleges look at, which is beneath extracurricular.

Just a theory:

Maybe the difference is that "extracurricular" usually refers to activities connected to the school but after school hours (i.e. clubs/sports) which means involvement with the school.

Volunteering, while also important and outside of class, is often (but not always) apart from the school so it's more about involvement in the larger community.

Colleges may just want you to show that you're likely to get involved in something to do with the college - i.e. within the college community - rather than attending classes and spending all your free time elsewhere.

Find a couple of school groups that are about/related to things you're interested in. There's no point in joining if you're not interested in what the group does.

FHS has enough student groups that you should be able to find a couple you can enjoy. And if not, you can always start something new. :)

Happy hunting, and have fun wherever you end up.
