I'm taking all honors and AP, but I'm worried about extra curricular activities, considering all colleges I've looked online at have considered those to be "Very Important," while community service (Volunteer Work) is only "Important" or "Considered." Maybe the difference is that "extracurricular" usually refers to activities connected to the school but after school hours (i.e. clubs/sports) which means involvement with the school.
Volunteering, while also important and outside of class, is often (but not always) apart from the school so it's more about involvement in the larger community.
Colleges may just want you to show that you're likely to get involved in something to do with the college - i.e. within the college community - rather than attending classes and spending all your free time elsewhere.

FHS has enough student groups that you should be able to find a couple you can enjoy. And if not, you can always start something new. :)
