COMM RULES
Challenge Rules:
- Challenges will be run every two weeks.
- Anyone is permitted to enter, no matter their level of mad skillz with Photoshop.
- A selection of caps will be provided for each challenge. In the case of episode/season based challenges, a link MAY also be provided to an image gallery. You WILL also be allowed to use images from any source as long as they come from the episode/s stated - this will be made clear in each challenge post.
- You may enter up to 5 icons in total for each challenge.
- Icons must be new - i.e. made especially for the challenge.
- Blending of more than one cap in a single icon IS allowed.
- Use of any textures or brushes you want IS allowed.
- There will always be a Top 3 vote and several additional categories which may vary from challenge to challenge depending on the types of entries received but will usually include 'Best Color', 'Best Crop', and 'Most Creative'. As per the community name, there will also always be a voting category for 'Best Squint' which means any icon not featuring Booth and/or Brennan except in challenges where we can't get it to fit the overall theme.
- No animation.
- Make sure your icons fit LJ's standards (100x100 pixels and 40KB or less in size).
- Don't post your icons anywhere else until the challenge is over.
- Do not show your icons to your friends so they'll vote for you (however please feel free to ask people to join the comm and vote for *their* favourites)!
- Submit your image src and urls in a comment to the relevant challenge post (comments will be screened) like this:

- Closing dates of challenges will be clearly stated in each challenge post.
Voting Rules:
- Do not vote for yourself.
- Do not ask people to vote for you or for certain icons. But it is OK to ask people to join the comm and vote - the more the merrier!
- Icons voted in 1st, 2nd & 3rd place will be awarded the following points, which are totalled to determine the winners: 1st place: 3 pts, 2nd place: 2 pts, 3rd place: 1 pt.
- Winners in any other categories featured are determined by number of votes.
- Voters ARE NOT permitted to vote for the same icon for a 1st-3rd placing and a category placing - we will remind voters of this rule in each voting post.
- Ties at the end of the voting period: Top 3 placements - we will first look at how many 1st-3rd votes icons received to see if we can find a winner that way (i.e. an icon that received a 1st vote would beat an icon that received a 2nd & 3rd vote, despite each icon receiving 3 points in total). If no winner can be found, a tiebreak vote will be posted. Other categories - a tiebreak vote will always be posted in the case of ties. Note: If a vote is still tied after a tiebreak vote then both icons will share the win... we all have lives to be getting on with!
- Voting periods will be clearly stated in voting posts.
- Once the winners of a challenge are announced the entries at the original post will be unscreened so people can snag icons and know who to credit. Please make sure you do credit people if you use their icons.
