This weekend heading towards the AGO some religious guy tried to annoy us. I told bible boy to fuck right off. So, he stole the microphone from the people putting on some sort of event in China Town to tell them what's wrong with their culture in his gods eyes ( Read more... )

Friend of mine tried to turn me on to Last.fm, but I didn't really see a point to it. Just sort of seemed like musical exhibitionism to me at the time.

Yeah, so far I'm mostly in agreement with you. I thought if I networked with a few peopl on it I'd see more depth to it, but so far it just feels like it's me showing off how snotty I am within my tastes. Though I'm liking their streeming radio application enough that I haven't given up either.

I think in theory, a networking system that deals with music is a good idea, but you end up having problems with pooling... More people with a particular taste for x, and not enough with y... So if you're into a certain genre that is sort of obscure, you're shit out of luck... Or you end up getting a hold of a lot of the same sort of shit.

I've found some music through Pandora... It's not a networked thing, but they do have a fairly extensive database with a wide variety of tags for each track. Not saying it's perfect, but worth a try if you haven't already.

When I last looked at Pandora it had nothing at all from stuff I liked, that was months ago though, might be worth a second look.

I have last.fm, but I personally like how it tracks what music I listen to there; the chart breakdown kind of itnerests me.. it's the entowkring I don't see a point in, through I've read a few good journal entries and found some good stuff on radio besides. I'm undert he same name, if you're interested.

I signed up a bit ago, but haven't really looked, just took it for another networking thing.
