What exactly do you mean by "It kinda makes me sad, but it also humbles me in regards to the flags that don't fit the "social norm," such as Notorious Fandango, Black Sheep Brigade and WILLEY'S COYOTIES."

It makes me sad reading that thread, as--at least for a while--we seemed to be the bad guys of the situation. I don't like seeing us being put in a negative light (as I'm sure we all don't)...it also happens to be something I'm not used to.
That said, I usually find myself observing situations where a group doesn't approve of an individual because they are doing something that doesn't fit some invisible mold. It doesn't seem often that I fit in for either side of such a situation, although I'm sure it happens to me more than I realize. I am recalling recent instances where I was part of the "group," and reading the thread on Midsummer has put some perspective on them.
