5 years ago last week, this blog was launched, and went largely unnoticed by the universe at large. 5 years ago THIS week, a great holiday was created, one that will live on for the ages.

I'm always up for a party!!! Please do expand on the virtues of this celebration so that I may honor it appropriately...

Well it's a celebration of the late, great Ecto Cooler. It lives on, supposedly, as Shouting Orange Tangergreen, but they didn't have that at my Walmart so I settled for the next best thing.

While I was at the store I realized that there's really a lack of any other good Slimermas traditions. I feel like I've done my part to bring it to the forefront of the American consciousness though.

Actually, to my knowledge it and its successor, can't remember what it was called, have both been discontinued meaning there is no Ecto cooler left.

I did celebrate though, I watched two episodes of Slimer and the Real Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2.

Duh, you're right, it turned into Crazy Citrus Cooler and I even had something to say about it so way to go, memory:

I don't understand the point of the name changes. Dropping the Ecto makes sense, and I guess it's logical that a drink that isn't green shouldn't be called Tangergreen, but I still think it's stupid.

But Wikipedia says that's finally gone too. So, technically I've got the closest available approximation! Not counting Mystie's recipe. Hmm, that Absolut Mandarin is kind of inspiring...

I've got a Real Ghostbusters tape of "A Fright at the Opera" that I wanted to watch, but I don't have a VCR set up. I <3 Ghostbusters 2.

I recall first reading this article and searching for the lavaburst at my local grocers until I found it, and was happy.

Happy Belated Slimermas!
