Equality of Saliva

Thought I'd update you on the kitty leash situation.  It's gone from good to bad.  She still doesn't mind the body straps portion of the leash, but decided to do some chewing Monday night.  By the time I caught it, the leash from looped handle to clip was coated in warm, moist kitty saliva.  This ranks up there with the grossest things Honey has ( Read more... )

leash, saliva, honey

Kitty defiance.... anonymous August 2 2006, 21:24:21 UTC
Dude, your description of the whole event is hilarious. Nothing a good alcohol pad can't cure. My mom I think had a chain on our cat for a limited time, and then couldn't live with the fact that it looked like we were chaining her, a form of cruel and unusual to animals. So that stopped. I hope the best for the kitty situation. Perhaps rub something bitter yet harmless to her on the leash itself. Hmmmmmm. Perhaps cranberry juice? Grapefruit maybe? Something sour, lemon? Let me know how it works out.

I have to see if Honey hates bananas. She tends to like anything she's seen us eating - most recently, corn and carrots - but I have not offered her any banana. Think it's universally hated by felines? We'll see! Mwahahaha...

My Cat Owner's Manual just mentioned that good healthy treats for a cat include: air-popped popcorn, green beans, and carrots... I didn't think cats would like green beans or carrots - guess I was wrong.

Is it a typo if you ise the wrong word completely??? I know the wonder that is kitty saliva, and it's not a fun experience. Perhaps you could get her a chew toy, that squeaks... :)

Check. We got her two cheap toys last night, one more chewy than the other. Hopefully, she'll take a liking to one and leave the blankets alone!

I guess I'm the only one not really bothered by kitty saliva. *shrug* Ginny slobbers on her mice toys all the time, I still pick them up and throw them for her.

Nice description ^_^ but I'm in the same boat as Matt... it's icky but not repulsive... (ie - it will get a "bleh" out of me but... that's it)
