The Diet Continues

May 26, 2009 13:41

I lost 3.5 pounds this past week, so I’m back on track. That’s 18.5 pounds since I restarted my diet this year and a total of 52.5 pounds since my highest weight. I think this may be the lowest weight I’ve been at since packing on the pounds my junior year of high school ( Read more... )

That is truly amazing. You certainly are not giving up and it is motivating! I'd be curious to know how tall you are and how much you weighed at your heaviest and what your goal weight is. Not to judge you, merely to figure out if my goal is reasonable or not (for myself).

I'm 5'6 and still very portly. Hehe, I can email you personally to tell you the weight totals if you want to send me your address, but I'm still too shy to do it on here.

I've set my goal at 74 pounds if you add in what I lost before and this 40-pound goal and I could STILL stand to lose more weight. I am a big girl. ;)

We are so programmed to be ashamed of the number on the scale. It pisses me off that we are so conditioned, but that's the society we live in. My email address is adiralph@verizon.net if you wanna talk details further. I'll tell you mine too. ;)

That's awesome, Kate. I just weighed this morning and am one pound lower than my highest weight. All over again. SIGH.

I know how you feel. I put a decent chunk of what I'd lost back on. Like 16 or 17 pounds of it, I think?

It took me a good year of doing that before I was ready to start dieting again. So if you want to lose weight, do it when you're ready. I hope that doesn't sound like lame advice, but you'll do it when you're ready. And you're gorgeous either way. :)

You're definitely right there. You will only succeed at weight loss when you're ready. Sometimes we have to admit to ourselves that even though we started a new diet (or whatever) that we don't really want to at that time and we aren't ready.

I lost about 14 pounds in January after I went through that huge split and was so excited. But that was from depression leading to a loss of appetite (rare in me) and I quickly gained it all back. SIGH.

Yeah, usually my depression leads to binge eating but I've had a few where I end up losing my appetite and I'm always pleased with at the time but I never maintain it because I'm in completely the wrong mindset.

As long as it's something that was too small and not something that used to be too big. ;)

I just got into a bunch of clothes that I couldn't even zip a few months ago, and it feels so great to have more than 3 choices when getting dressed!
