I loved Jack's voice in this part, especially this part,

“Except instead of waking up in the end,” he continued, “we’re going deeper into the rabbit hole.”

randomness is pointless, but for some reason I had the fleeting thought, "oh they already know it's a boy?" when Jack said David. I have no idea why I found that strange O_o lol

anyway I'm very much looking forward to the Jack and Claire scene.

Oh, thank you! I'm going to work extra hard on Jack and Claire.

And, regarding David...did you not like the fact that they knew David was a boy? Because I can change that to "baby" and make it so they don't know. But I figured Juliet would probably be able to use the equipment on the island to find out such a thing pretty easily.

Oh no not at all! That was just commentary on how stupid I am because of course they would be able to figure out the sex of the baby! But that came after the stupidity

This is so, so great! I love Jack and Charlotte together as buddies, especially when you write them! Great reference back to the other fic, and how that's clearly bonded them, and the Daniel reference (hee!) and the entire conversation about Charlotte coming back to the island -- so perfect, because the real tragedy in canon is that her death seemed to nullify her discovery of the island, at least in my eyes -- and how leaving actually allows them to make their own choice.

I seriously cannot wait to see the rest of this, with Juliet and Miles and the rest, and possibly hear about their time in Dharmaville (hee, drinking contest ;P -- of course it would be Juliet and Charlotte).

Thank you so much! Yeah--Charlotte's little monologue occurred to me as I was writing, so it's good to hear that it sounds in-character to you.

But writing it also got me thinking about Charlotte's relationship with her parents (about which, insofar as I remember, we didn't hear very much)) I always pictured her having an antagonistic (if not estranged) relationship with her mother, based on the way that Charlotte talked about their disagreement.
