Hola, Squarewartians!
As some of you know, we have had a few discussions about quidditch in the past but haven't quite succeeded in utilising them yet. Since we now have four very delicious full teams, the mods are thinking we should get some games rolling.
Here is our proposed plan for how to do quidditch games, though if you have suggestions for how we could make it simpler, etc, we would love to hear them.
STEP ONE
Using the advanced technology of dice, coin flipping and pulling names out of hats, the mods will determine all of the following:
❦ Which team wins
❦ Which Chaser scores _____ points
❦ Which Seeker catches the Snitch, after how long
❦ Which Beaters hit which players (degree of injury decided by players)
❦ Penalties, fouls, points where the Referee must step in
STEP TWO
The mods will post an OOC entry listing each of these things.
Players with characters on the relevant teams and the referee MUST reply to this post to discuss reactions and what goes on in the game, character reactions, etc, in an OOC capacity (similar to how we run our staff & student representative meetings).
Players will not be required to log an entire game, because this is just impractical. However, if ideas that you think would be fun to log come up in the OOC discussion then you will be able to log them!
Players who in STEP TWO decided that something was TOTALLY AWESOME and they wanted to log it can start a log entry to log out certain actions, either in action log or prose log format.
Spectators may also log in this entry.
FOR EXAMPLE
It is decided by the mods that in Ravenclaw v. Slytherin:
❦ Ravenclaw loses
❦ Slytherin gets the snitch
❦ Azula hits Galatea with a bludger.
In the OOC discussion, Bella might say that when Azula hit Galatea it caught in her hair, and in her ire Galatea decided ruining Azula's life for the rest of the game would be better than looking for the snitch, should that be okay with Manda.
Because they find this awesome, Manda and Bella could post a thread to log out Galatea and Azula's conflict.
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, let us know!
