Shunsui floated out to the greenhouses, enjoying the sight of the sun making its way down toward the horizon, if not the warmth from its rays. He hummed happily, chewing on the ghostly piece of straw that he'd has between his lips when-- He stopped that train of thought in its tracks. Today was a nice day. He wanted to see the plants. And Nanao. But he told himself it was mostly the plants.

"Oi, Nanao-cha~an!" he called, as he swept into the greenhouse. "I've come to see the children!"

Nanao almost dropped her wand in surprise as- seemingly from nowhere- that person's voice floated across the greenhouse. It would be him visiting her after class.
She was about to turn and berate him for his unexpected entrance when she paused- her chest suddenly tight. She took a deep breath. It was surprise making her heart race away in her chest, she thought firmly. Nothing more.

She spun around to face him.
"You shouldn't just sneak up on people like that! It's irresponsible! And don't call me Nanao-chan! AND WHAT CHILDREN?!"

Lips quirking up into a lazy, amused smile, Shunsui let Nanao's words wash over him. There was something soothing and, strangely, adorable about the way she got so worked up over things. That way he didn't have to. Not that he had ever really been worked up about anything. But there was something in Nanao that made him want to get worked up sometimes.

He ignored her yelling for a moment, and floated over to a row of Flutterby bushes, inspecting them with his critical former-Herbology professor's eye. Satisfied that the plants were in good health, he turned to Nanao and winked. "You've been keeping the children well-fed and cared for, I see!"

Nanao fumed silently as he ignored her and inspected the plants.
The very least he could do when he visited the greenhouses would be to listen to her. They were technically her greenhouses after all.
Actually, him listening to her any time would be nice. It was as though what she said just floated in one ear and out the other without bothering him in the slightest.

"The second years have been doing most of the work," Nanao explained quickly, steadfastly ignoring the wink and the strange flutter she felt at his unexpected praise. "They've got another week with the Flutterbys and then I might bring out the Mandrakes." she continued. "That will challenge them a little."
