Since receiving Riku's Christmas present, Sora's enthusiasm for all things airborn had spiked to even more ridiculous levels. As such, he'd taken to getting about on his broom.
"Hi, Professor!" He called happily, leaping off his treasured Cleansweep and just narrowly avoiding squishing a stray flobberworm. "What are we doing today? Will there be dragons?"
The look on his face was akin to one of a hopeful puppy.
Care of Magical Creatures was by far one of Ty Lee's favorite subjects. So quite naturally, she had arrived as early as possible, wearing one of her new sparkly hair ties. She had heard the new Professor was fairly young and had hoped he was as handsome as the previous.
Before she saw the Professor though, her brown eyes landed on her fellow 5th year. "Hi, Sora!" she waved with a giggle. Then she saw them. "Ewww! Are those flobberworms," she cried out.

"You have to start somewhere." Apollo replied with a sigh. Maybe he should have chosen unicorns.
"TODAY- ahem, I mean...Today we will be handling flobberworms, as Miss Ty Lee pointed out. Each year has to prove themselves capable of more advanced creatures, so your year isn't the only one. Just prove you can handle these and I promise something cooler for next time." Aside from the nervousness (resulting in the initial loud volume) Apollo thought that went rather well.
“Come on, Ty Lee!” Sora cried. “Flobberworms are awesome! They can flobber! And you know what's really awesome? You can feed them from both ends at the same time!”
His resulting smile made it difficult for anyone to counteract the awesomeness of flobberworms.
“Hey, you're wearing one of my hair thingies!” he announced, happily surprised. “Do you like them?”
Ikkaku swaggered onto the grounds, a rather shabby looking Gryffindor hat pulled down over his bald head. Even if was he was going to be an Auror - and he was, 'cause nothin' else was excitin' enough - Care of Magical Creatures was a cool class. Maybe if they were lucky, the teacher would turn up with dragons sometime. He grinned fiercely, and almost bounded the rest of the way there.

Apollo was beginning to wonder if he was going to get that question from every year. Probably.
"Those would be flobberworms. And I would suggest watching that mouth." He stated, picking up one of the floppy worms. "This will be the only day we will be handling these! If you can handle them well enough, I will bring more advanced animals in the following class period."
The worm went back down to rest with its brethren. "Fail, and I'll find something more boring than flobberworms."
Suddenly this seemed less cool. And Ikkaku was pissed that he'd let Yumichika talk him into taking the class. 'Beautiful creatures' bullshit.
"I ain't an idiot," Ikkaku replied gruffly. "I know what those things are. This first year level!" He scowled at the kid before him. No way... "Ya ain't the professor, are ya?"
"Oh, grand," he sighed, wishing he were anywhere but in class. Aside from his cat, Sasuke wasn't a big animal person to begin with. But flobberworms? That was just sad.

At least someone was trying. Really he didn't think flobberworms would go over this badly.
"Right then! Welcome to class! As you can tell, we will be dealing with flobberworms today..." He wondered if he should once again explain the catch, but this lot seemed at least a bit more willing than the last, maybe he could count on them to just do what they needed without the extra incentive.

Orihime looked up suddenly, realising that class had started.
She'd arrived early and, finding that she was the only one there, had proceeded to ponder what kinds of food she should cook with Professor Rangiku. It would have to involve red bean paste...
But obviously now wasn't the time... Orihime inspected the flobberworms with growing fascination. Once you got over the strange, flobber-y way they looked, they weren't too bad...

"Come on, Sasuke-kun. They're...not so bad..."
THe look on her face clearly said she didn't believe that.
