They definitely didn't get weather like this back home. There was something almost fascinating about it, Genesis thought to himself as he took a look about the snow-covered grounds. It was almost like something you'd read in a book. It looked beautiful. He couldn't say much for how it actually felt to him, but he could deal with it, at least for a little while. Being stuck in the school all the time wasn't the most pleasant of experiences. He needed just a moment to be able to breathe.

Seeing a figure by the lake, however, was almost a bit surprising. It was.. cold out. There weren't very many people crazy enough to be outside in weather like this, were there? Well, he supposed there would always be some, but it was strange to him that this person seemed to be rather comfortable. As if.. as if it were nothing! Approaching, Genesis thought he might actually recognize the person, and a little smirk crossed his face. "Wonderful weather for reading, I take it?" he said asked. "I would have opted for something a little.. warmer."

Surprised by the voice, Swan turned a little to glance over her shoulder. "Genesis," the blonde greeted with a slight nod. His question caused her lips to quirk up in a slight smile. "It is... invigorating," she replied, a hint of self mockery in her voice. "Certainly more suited for peaceful reading than the Common Room."

Especially, she thought, when Ikkaku was yelling about arm wrestling matches.

"What brings you out here?" Swan asked, one hand straying to her throat to adjust her scarf as she turned further. "If you prefer the warm."

"Possibly the same as you?" Genesis said, looking out over the lake. Maybe he could just pretend that it wasn't as cold as it actually was. Though, looking over the lake covered in ice probably wasn't a great way to do that. He motioned toward the school and said, "I was hoping for a little peace and quiet as well. It's quieter out here than just about any room in that building. Not that I'm surprised." Genesis turned to look at Swan. "Although, I wasn't expecting it to be quite so.. cold."

Strolling outside, Ren gave a shiver as the cold air hit his thin frame. Sure, he had his jacket on and he grew up with harsh winter seasons but, he didn’t have enough fat on his body to help retain any heat and just because he grew up somewhere cold didn’t mean that he liked it.

Without a specific place in mind, the older student had just decided to wander the grounds aimlessly, rummaging through his pockets in search of his cigarettes. He pulled out a crumpled Seven Star package and a cheap plastic lighter, taking one of the white cancer sticks and holding it with his lips before flicking the lighter. As soon as he finished his simple routine tasks, he inhaled the toxic smoke before breathing it back out into the cold winter air.

Seeing two people he recognised out in the distance, he casually made his way over and with a lazy grin and a wave he called out to them. “Genesis! Swan! How’s it been?”

"Perhaps," Swan murmured quietly. "I shall do my very best not to be a dampener on your romance, though." She sighed softly. "Oh dear.... I fear I am being a third wheel..." The blonde trailed off into another woeful sigh, her breath misting in the cold air.

"...As long as the swan is presented in an entirely complimentary fashion," Swan teased. The girl paused, furrowing her brow in thought. "... On the other hand, maybe I'll just be supportive... from a distance." She wrinkled her nose. "... That myth... it isn't a favourite," Swan added diplomatically. "What about Echo and Narcissus?" A pause. "Because vanity and heartbreak are so... uplifting." With a helpless shrug, she smiled at the two boys.

"It's very true... we're practically certified. We'll be receiving a special ribbon when we leave Hogwarts - N.E.W.Ts and Excellence in Obnoxious Behaviour." She gently rested a hand on Genesis' shoulder. "It's all right... you have qualities that make up for your obnoxious lacking... I didn't mean that to sound quite so condescending ( ... )

Genesis laughed quietly to himself. "No such thing, Swan," he said, reassuringly. He felt a slight chill suddenly, and readjusted his scarf for warmth. "Vanity and heartbreak. They make for a wonderful story, though, don't they? They are the basis for many, after all."

He looked at Swan when she placed her hand on his shoulder. He looked up, then, acting as though he'd been enlightened in some way. "Is that so? My confidence is restored knowing that," he mused. "I suppose, in that way, everything just evens out, doesn't it?"

Genesis watched Swan as she cast her little spell over the lake. He smirked, placing his own foot on the ice as well to test its solidity. "This isn't some sort of trap, is it? You aren't trying to bring a tragic end to Ren and I, are you?" he asked her jokingly.

He looked at the now frozen lake and shrugged, he was likely lighter then either one of them, sad as that was, so he felt pretty assured that if both of them could walk on it, then it wouldn’t break beneath his feet either. He stepped down onto the lake and patted Genesis on the back, “Well, if this is a plot to kill us, then at least I won’t die in the presence of strangers.”

Ren brows furrowed a bit at Swans declaration of graduation and he frowned, “No, Genesis, I don’t think everything is evened out. Mostly because,” He turned his heel and faced Swan with an accusing look but a smile tugged at his lips, “I can’t believe you would think such a thing of me, Swan. I thought you knew me better then that but clearly, I’m mistaken!” After this little mock outburst, he turned away from her, crossing his arms but hiding his grin while his back was turned to the others, “Passing my N.E.W.Ts, of all things. What mockery is this?”

"I'm hurt you think so ill of me," Swan murmured. "Then again, I did just declare myself as jealous... so I suppose you figured out my plan." She continued across the lake, carefully testing before she stepped, wand ready in case she needed to reinforce the ice. Swan enjoyed swimming as much as the next person, but this was the Lake, in winter, and she didn't particularly want to spend time with Nurse Akabane, even if it was in the company of Genesis and Ren. "Vanity and heartbreak certainly do make for good stories," she agreed. "It seems sad that so many brilliant stories are so tragic," Swan added. "Perhaps we are just inclined to be melancholy."

A soft laugh escaped her lips. "My deepest apologies, Ren. Please forgive me."

((OOC: Although, the thought of these three all stuck in the nurse's office makes me lol XD I almost wish for it :P))
