All told, Lucy was handling the situation rather well. After she'd agreed to meet Sei for what even she had to acknowledge was actually a date...she thought..maybe...she'd managed to limit herself to two freakouts, summoning Cancer to change her hair three different times, and emptied her entire closet.

Really, by Lucy's standards, that was actually quite mellow.

Still, she would point out that having never been on a date before, and thus had a right to be nervous. Especially as she started walking towards the meeting spot, wondering if the dress she'd chosen was too much for a first date, and if her boots were too high, and was she fidgeting too much, and oh spirits she was going on a date, and that date was with a girl and that girl was Sei. Any one of those facts would have been decidedly unbelievable. That all three were put together threatened to have her tripping over her own feet from distraction as she walked up the steps.

So much for wowing her date with her first impression.

It would be alright. Because Sei... Sei was lost in her own thoughts basically up until Lucy was right next to her, so she would not notice most of the approach, most of the fidgeting and discomfort. Not until Lucy was practically right next to her

... And then... Sei smiled. It was a very gentle type of smile that said she didn't notice a single thing wrong with the way Lucy looked or acted. In fact, she was glad she had gone with a slightly more conservative and less ostentatious look. A simple blouse and pants, formal, but not fancy, generally masculine, but with just enough of a feminine cut to enunciate that yes, she was a girl. And why?

Because she found herself having to stop and look over the other girl, slowly, appreciatively, not unlike how she had at the Halloween Ball.

"Good evening Lucy," she stood upright, letting her arms fall to her sides. The gentle smile became that much brighter. "... You look amazing."

When Sei smiled, Lucy felt her stomach lurch and her heart skip a beat. She told herself that it was just because she was nervous, and because this was a date it was only natural for her to be nervous, and besides she was always reading too much into things anyway. Really, it was all quite absurd.

Which didn't really explain why it kept doing that, but hearts really were silly things.

A smile was just beginning to form on the flustered blond's lips, when suddenly Sei's gaze became much more...appreciative. Normally such a thing would have lead to a blush and a flustered comment, but, well, this was a date wasn't it? Maybe Lucy could let Sei off with just the blush. Just this time.

After all, she did look pretty good, didn't she?

"Thank you," she managed with minimal stammering, before giving a little swallow. "You look really great too." Which now that she thought about it was true. Somehow Sei managed to blend a generally masculine fashion with a feminine emphasis and make it look, well, very attractive.

Wow. That was quite the blush she was getting. Not that she'd complain, not in the least. In fact, it was endearing Lucy even more to her. She wasn't entirely sure when her feelings toward Lucy had changed in this direction - for all she'd thought she was still nursing her wounds from Shiori - but now that she was feeling nice and warm in the presence of the other girl she couldn't help but be glad.

She turned then, motioning down the steps toward the town proper. "Thank you. Shall we?" And then... held out her elbow. Like a proper gentleman, should Lucy feel comfortable enough to take it, at least.
