His hands clasped together and he took a seat all cozied up on the Head of House seat designated just for him. It was lust and comfortable. Oh, but how he longed to be down there with his students, his darlings, his babies, so he picked up his chair and scooted himself at the head of the Slytherin table or whatever table had the most Slytherin's on it instead of with all the teachers above.
The roast turkey looked delicious and the pumpkin pies were to die for. His black gloves came off almost instantly, wishing up a plump bit of turkey, with gravy and potatoes. Sweetened hot chocolate filled his cup to the brim, leaving him melting in delight.
At the sight of the paper he nearly snatched it off and began scribbling down his wish, biting his tongue in hopeful arrogance. Oh, how he wished it would come true. Grell was a blind and heartful fool and he was guilible enough to be believe even false hopes. He blinked when it disappeared, so he tucked it in his pocket.
As much as he preferred things to be quiet, there was something to be said for a full Great Hall. Leoben scanned the hall watching the students file in and dig into their food. The patterns suddenly all back together again. It brought back a few feelings of nostalgia.
He stared down at the parchment, contemplating what he could write. He didn't have that many wishes, but there had to be something.
With such wonderful feelings of cheer filling the Great Hall, Belle hadn't even given a second thought - not that she had had a first - to a wish for the New Years. She had enjoyed listening and participating in the conversations about the staff table, as well as watching the students enjoy a happy celebration and chatter on in reflection and anticipation. Not to mention, the feast itself had been quite a thing as well! Though the kitchens were always full of delicious things, she had missed the tastes of back home and had definitely made a point to request and sample many of her favourite foods
( ... )
"Seems to be the case," Leoben replied, coming quickly out of his thoughts. He'd managed to write something down, though he was curious as to where it would lead. You couldn't trust anything in this castle.
Belle, once she had taken a sip of her drink, scribbled something down upon her own sheet of paper. As she did so, she nodded towards Leoben and turned towards him..
"I think so," she admitted with a soft smile. "If I had one wish at all, at least, this would be it."
Chourou wonders at anything appearing on the plate. He starts with pokute vegetable stir fry. He is pleasantly surprised at seeing pokute. He wonders how the moogles obtained them. He offers some to everyone around him. He believes that everyone should try this wonderful food.
After the feast he eagerly writes his wish on the parchment.
Hikaru looks incredulously at her plate as a variety of her favorite foods appear. "Wow! That's really amazing!" The red-head beamed. She lifted the plate over her head to look underneath but that offered no further insight into the plates innerworkings. She may be a witch-in-training but still! little things like this were still fascinating to her. She gently placed the plate back down on the table, it clinked lightly as it touched the wood surface.
After a few more moments of casual staring, she lifted a utensil and set to work on the contents. Once the plate was emptied she closed her eyes and concentrated on another delicious food item to see if it would appear. Slowly she raised one eyelid to peek at the plate, nothing had appeared. Only slightly disappointed she had to admit that she was actually full anyway.
.. but instead.. a parchment was sitting there. That didn't resemble ice cream at all! She listens attentively when Edea explains the idea then sets to work trying to think of just what to wish for. What a great idea!
After writing down his wish and making sure the ink had safely faded from view, Eagle made his way over to the Gryffindor table and to one person in particular. A little more subdued than he had been before his trip back home he still seemed pleasantly happy to anyone who didn’t know him very well.
“I wonder what it is that Hikaru will wish for…?” Managing a playful tone and pretending to peek over her shoulder at the wish she was writing.
He hadn’t actually tried to read the slip though. Maybe it was a private wish! Eagle wasn’t really looking to pry.
Bounge wondered if soup was possible, since the plate was sort of flat. In his opinion winter was the perfect time for Baechu doenjang guk.
"Neato!" he commented as the Cabbage soup was contained. He was rather impressed with this magic, and surprised that the Moogles knew anything about Korean cuisine. He had a few of his favorite dishes and some things that would probably disgust most Westerners.
The parchment thing was an interesting tradition. He was having way too much fun watching the words disappear. There were more randomness than actual wishes on his paper.
