To say Griffith was restless was an understatement, already growing bored by the inactivity of holiday break. Catching up on his studies and settling into the school routine could only keep him entertained for so long, and so he had set out to find something to busy himself that didn't involve staying cooped up in the Slytherin common room.

Unfortunately, it had been awhile since Griffith had any time for hobbies that didn't involve war and he found himself quite unsure what to do with his time. Though appearing more than purposeful in his stroll, Griffith was left wandering the castle a bit aimlessly. Trusting the nature of Hogwarts, he was bound to run into something eventually. If not, he could always admire the holiday decorations.

The hallways were understandably empty, so when Cid rounded the corner, he was a bit surprised to see a student. Let alone the young commander and lord that had left such an impression on him when he arrived but a week ago. "Ah-- Mister... Albion, was it?" he began, coming to a stop.

"You have chosen to remain at school?"

It wasn't uncommon for Griffith to be recognized by even those he was unfamiliar with, his appearance almost unmistakable by reputation alone, so he was hardly surprised at being stopped in the otherwise empty hallway. After coming to a reasonable conversational distance from the professor he remembered briefly speaking with via the journals, Griffith halted as well and greeted the much taller man with a polite smile.

Raising his eyebrows slightly at mister, Griffith refrained from correcting Cid. Before Lord he had been Sir, and before that he had been a mere thief and nobody (outside of the school) had called him mister then. While unexpected, he wasn't particularly offended. "Yes. I don't believe we've been properly acquainted," he began by holding out a hand. "Professor...? You teach Law, correct?" While Griffith had yet to start classes, Law was on his schedule for when they resumed ( ... )

"Indeed we have not."

Deftly, Cid finishes wrapping his hands before taking Griffith's hand and giving a single, firm shake before his own hand retreats back to his side, habitually resting on his belt. Thinking a moment, he couldn't recall if he'd given Griffith his name. He nodded at his inquiry before adding, "That is correct, at the NEWT level. I am Cid Raines."

He gave an amused hum at Griffith's remark. "No, perhaps not," was his soft reply.

"I am as well, yes."

No home to speak of, after all. It would be a bit odd to spend the holidays on the Lindblum when it was precisely what he needed a break from.

"It's an opportunity to reacquaint yourself with the school, at least."
