Fang is unusually quiet, and somber. She isn't speaking unless she's spoken to directly, and is sticking very close to Vanille for the entirety of the meeting. She's observing for the most part.

Shalice is there, sitting up all straight and imposing and don't fuck with me. She is in a terrible mood. They are lucky Solo and Loxar are the only two who were seriously injured, lucky that Lulu happened upon them, and they cannot rely on luck in this environment, where things go wrong with alarming enough regularity when unaided by the students. They need to come down hard and do a better job at enforcing the rules, because this was totally unacceptable and totally avoidable.

Solo needs suspending from the Quidditch team, and she questions the wisdom of allowing Sorel on it at all. Loxar clearly needs monitoring of some kind.

She does not think taking points is appropriate in this instance, as it punishes everyone for the actions of a few, and the Slytherin prefects in particular have been making great effort to assist in this situation.

While Shalice is no great fan of censorship, she does believe that knowingly posting inflammatory content on the journals should be grounds for punishment.

Setsuna points out that sometimes putting students in sports can help them find outlets other than violence to express themselves. She acknowledges that this obviously didn't work for these students but it might be one of the reasons Sorel was placed on the team in the first place.

Setsuna is also in agreement that taking points will not be appropriate as clearly not all the students are involved in this matter and the number of points that would need to be removed would be far to severe. She wonders though if expulsion is perhaps too severe. She inquires as to what sort of record Solo and Loxar have had in the past.

Shalice agrees that this may work in some instances, but it has certainly failed with Sorel, and he should have been removed as soon as it was clear this was the case. But that is in the past, neither here nor there, and he should be removed now.

She does not advocate expulsion in this case, or ever, really, unless absolutely necessary. She believes that both Solo and Loxar are not inherently dangerous people, and that it is more a failing on the part of the staff as a whole that this was allowed to occur. She is pretty equal-opportunity blame here.

Solo is a Jedi, and one who has suffered greatly at the hands of blood purists. Loxar was a member of a Dark Guild, brainwashed into believing that her uncontrollable water magic was a curse of her impure blood. Both of these girls are young, and have experienced things Shalice would not wish upon anyone, and it is their responsibility as staff to make certain that tensions are not allowed to build to this point.

Setsuna agrees and while she has not interacted directly with Solo or Loxar, believes they are not inherently dangerous.

Setsuna may be taking notes about this and nods. She agrees there might have been some failing on the staff's side but they need to focus on the future here, not the past. They can fix this NOW and learn from their mistakes. Which also leads Setsuna to wonder why neither girl was placed in counseling sooner.

Vanille is very quiet, and looks sad. She is sitting really close to Fang, resting her head on her shoulder and holding her hand under the table. She will speak when spoken to, but will otherwise not be offering any input.

Baww, sad gay handholding under the table. :C Fang is just paying attention to Vanille and probably trying to tune out this whole meeting thing.

Ta'a Chume offers them both tea.

These are most terrible times, are they not?

Wary look. She has seen Ta'a Chume in action before.

Yeah, it's terrible.

Edea is sitting near Cid, being all Hot Wife supportive. The situation saddens her, and it shows on her face

She will suggest that the students involved receive mandatory counseling sessions for a time, and that perhaps a moderated forum be set up through which students may discuss these issues without fear of retaliation.

Setsuna agrees with this assessment since clearly the students have some issues and problems they need to work out. She also seconds the idea of a moderated forum since controversial issues like this can and are often debated in civilized manner in other realms.

As one of the counselors, would Setsuna be willing to take on the responsibility of addressing these issues with them?

And would she be willing to assist in a moderator capacity, were this forum to go ahead?

Of course, it is her duty after all to meet with students that have such needs. She understands that the issue is delicate and assures Edea that she is confident she can address this issue without her own views on the matter getting in the way.

And again, yes, she would be.
