Lilith had ignored (or attempted to) ignore Keri throughout the duration of her return. Such was, to use a cliché, easier said than done. The third day of Keri's horrible Muggle trash she passed off as music, and Lilith had begun to entertain thoughts of smothering her in her sleep. However, today, and the past couple of days had been different in some way she couldn't quite narrow down. She observed Keri's incessant fidgeting with mild interest. It was intriguing.
A moment later, and she'd glanced back down to the book she was reading. When she was satisfied that enough time had passed, she spoke, her tone lightly concerned.
The pacing needed to stop, really. Of course her usual gestures were expansive enough and often without any purpose that it was hardly out of character, but - really. The pacing needed to stop. So when the urge came upon her to leap out of her chair again, she resisted, drumming her fingers absently on the arm rest as she cast her eyes restlessly about the Common Room
( ... )
Lilith raised an eyebrow. Bored, hm. She gave Keri a cursory once over, and returned to reading her book. If she was lying (Which was entirely possible. Lilith, being well-adept in the art of lying, was very good at catching when others were not being truthful.) the truth would come out sooner or later. For now, she kept from prying.
"How unfortunate that you must deal with such business while away from home." Lilith tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, shifted her position just so in her chair. Each movement was measured, careful: the result of rules drilled into her head since she was old enough to walk. "I assume the events in the castle are not capturing your interest at the moment?"
Keri glanced over at her roommate, eyes lingering for a moment. She had always found Lilith intriguing to look at, all clean lines and smooth skin and when she looked at her now...she could still appreciate that, see her beauty for what it was, but there was none of that familiar pull there. None of that attraction, no urge to mess up those clean lines.
Her fist thumped idly against the armrest of the chair before she threw herself out of it. She pulled her wand from behind her air and waved it idly, Transfiguring someone's Potions notes into butterflies. They fluttered behind her for a moment before one brave soul ventured over to Lilith. "It's the nature of business. If I ever have to deal with it at home, you may be visiting me in an asylum in the future." Home, or at least her own quarters, was her sanctuary, tucked away from the rest of the world with her brother. "And there are only so many moustaches you can draw on unconscious Gryffindors before it starts to get old, hmm?"

"You seem restless today. Is everything alright?"
