Being that this was, of course, the Headmaster's office, Sasuke certainly didn't intend to barge in the way he'd done with Tsunade, his hand putting dents in the doorknob and ripping the door open so hard and fast the hinges shrieked. No, not today. Sasuke was on his Best Behavior today, which entailed not damaging private, expensive property. Or threatening authority figures with something vaguely akin to dismemberment.

Sasuke had never really liked Cid, anyway - he had never liked being patronized. Or called to the office for stating a perfectly reasonable opinion, for that matter.

He knocked twice before entering.

The door opened as soon as Sasuke had finished his second knock, opening up the short staircase that lead to Cid's office, shelves of books dominating every wall, astronomy globes and apparatus taking over one corner and hanging from the ceiling.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Uchiha," Cid greeted with a smile, although he did sound just the slightest bit weary. The chair scooted out to greet him. "Would you rather sit or stand?"

Sasuke ignored the chair. "I'd prefer to stand, sir," he said as noncommittally as possible. He hadn't been in this office for a while - looks like there were more books than he remembered. How charming.

This had better not take long. Sasuke fervently hoped that Cid would just take the points, lecture him, and let him go.

"All right." Cid nodded his understanding, and leaned back in his chair, allowing the silence to draw out and hang between then. It wasn't really hard to tell that Sasuke wasn't pleased to be here, that he hardly thought much of this entire process.

After a few seconds, he cleared his throat to speak. "Unfortunately, it is necessary that I take points for your conduct with Ms. Driscoll today." His expression was apologetic. "But, rather than dwell on that, I would like to discuss what it was that stirred you to speak to her in such a way. Can you tell me?"
