WELCOME TO OUR OOC CLASS LOG!

How this will work, is that professors who wish to hold an OOC log post a thread for each year of their classes, labeled with the year and class. Then, students reply and we carry out one of our OOC logs. For examples of how our OOC logs are carried out, please go hereIf you find that events are carried out in the ( Read more... )

Oh look you have a new teacher! Isn't he pretty?

There's an introduction that yes he's the one going to teach these kids a thing or two about potions now and that he won't tolerate students messing around in his class and that if they cannot respect that he will be happy to allow them to do written work instead of that in class.

The actual lesson is making whatever they think the most dangerous potion is in pairs, pretty simple. Dangerous of course, is all in perspective and this is more of a test of what the students think potions is all about.

For homework: Nothing!

Sasuke collaborates with a seventh year (any one will do, first one who comments gets it or else it's an NPC) and makes Veritaserum.

The truth is very dangerous, didn't you know. :|

These poor little firstlings are safe for now. Wands away. You won't need them here.

Oh, but sorry. Pop Quiz, but here's the good part. You can pair up and take it with a friend, but just so you know. It's double the grade so if you fail, that's double a F.

WHOEVER SLIMED HIM ON HIS WAY TO CLASS IS GOING TO PAY DEARLY FOR THIS.

He slams the book on the table, stabbing his finger down to HAMLET. He wants that entire section memorized that he just pointed out before ANYONE gets to leave class.

He's literally fuming, small speckles of death skulls sliding out of his wand.

Alyss greets everyone with a smile and waits for the students to sit down, but be warned, if you don't quiet down immediately, she'll let you know that it's time to learn.

Today's lesson?

Draw anything you like on the sheet of paper provided. You only get one sheet, so choose carefully. The real assignment that will you get you cute kids your grade? You have to successfully charm your picture to move in some way. Good luck!

Namine looks thoughtful for awhile, but after a bit of thought finally draws a picture of a girl and a boy under and umbrella in the rain.

Alyss passes by and leans over Namine's shoulder to look at her picture. She asks if the rain is going to be charmed to fall.

Some classes will be held during the day and others after dark, it depends on what year you kidlets are in.

First & Second Year amongstheclouds March 23 2010, 22:41:38 UTC
Both years are starting a new star chart tonight. Using your telescopes, first years will be locating and charting the stars that make up the constellation Cassiopeia. Second years will be doing Pegasus. Once you're done with that, you're expected to do a small write up about the constellation containing basic information BUT DON'T WORRY YOU CAN USE YOUR BOOKS.

AND IT'S DUE AT THE END OF CLASS so use your time wisely! Also, optional but you will probably get a couple extra marks for sketching the image the constellation represents because Cloud likes you tiny kids.

Ruby sketches his image when he is done. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL DRAWING OF THE LADY IN THE CHAIR except a couple of the stars are off because he moved them to make a better picture. Ruby: totally understands the assignment lol

Cloud notices this specifically but addresses the class in general that the most important part of the assignment is successfully copying the star positions from the skies to paper.

But he does tell Ruby later that he's done a good depiction of Cassiopeia. c:

Luxord is now "helping students develop an understanding of how to responsibly use Time Magic and its many aspects."

If anyone mentions the "Time Warp" or a muggle "Delorean", Luxord will deduct five points from your House.

Luxord has recently switched to this position. So the class begins with a personal introduction and his explanation of what this class is, why they might find interest in pursuing this area, and his own experience with time magic. He makes a few demonstrations.

He then has students take notes on the fundamentals of time and some of the rules/dangers of this particular area of magic.

Your homework is to write an essay on how you could apply time magic in every day life.

He begins with an intro, much like his years 3-5. He gives the class a quiz on what they should already know about the field.

After that, the remainder of the class is spent working with various hour glasses and making the sand fall faster, then slower, and finally freezing it. He explains that this is working on their fine concentration and he switches out the hourglasses going for ones that have longer spans of time and shorter ones.

Bonus points are added to the quiz if you can successfully accomplish your three tasks (faster, slower, and freeze time) on 3 different hour glasses without passing out.

OHO. NEW FAVORITE CLASS.

Catty breezes through that quiz like it's nothing. She has been doing a lot of studying on this topic beforehand.

While she has a handle on the slower and faster part, it's the freezing that gets her. Yeah, she's just going to be taking a break now as she figures out a way to stop the sand.
