Shalice, who had been in the Great Hall for dinner and noted Riza's relatively quick dining and leaving, was in a mischievous mood. Perhaps mischievous wasn't the correct word. It was more like... friendly. Yes, that was it. Shalice was feeling friendly, and she thought that Riza should be having a friendly chat instead of doubtless going over some boring paperwork that she could put off for at least a week.

So there she was, trotting down the hall toward Riza's office, bottle of wine (from her own personal stores, no less - none of that grape juice the Headmaster passed off as vintage) in one hand, Wizarding Chess kit in the other. Riza could certainly do with some lightening up over a nice glass of the red stuff and a game involving tiny instances of violence.

Reaching Riza's office, she raised her hand and knocked the wine bottle gently against the door.

The sound of a knock caused Riza to pause in her work and look up for a brief moment. Who would be visiting at this hour? She knew she hadn't given out any evening detentions lately. A little disgruntled at having been interrupted from her work, Riza called out for the visitor to come in, and made a last ditch attempt to complete just one more document before she was inevitably distracted.

At the sound of the door opening, Riza looked up from the quickly finished piece of paper in front of her. Puzzlement flashed across her face for a second, and she raised an eyebrow as she took in that it was Professor Shalice making a late visit to her office, holding wine and a Wizarding Chess set. Her expression settled on pleasantly amused and curious; and maybe just a little touched at the gesture, if Riza had deducted correctly. Distraction was indeed inevitable.

She glanced wearily at the only half complete stack of paperwork, then smiled warmly at the red-headed woman. "Good evening Professor Shalice, what brings you here?"

At Riza's invitation to enter, Shalice did so, opening the door carefully, so as not to upset the things she carried. The last thing she wanted was to spill wine all over her co-worker's floor ( ... )

"Shalice, I appreciate the sentiment but I really have work to do." The paperwork stack seemed to look higher the longer she left it.

Riza sighed. "You're partially right. Not at the moment," she admitted. Riza did have a social life, but it had fallen a little by the wayside since coming to work at Hogwarts, preoccupied as she was with teaching, investigating, reporting, and trying to deal with the insanity that was Hogwarts. Truth be told she hadn't had fun in a long while, unless she counted her target practice.

She snorted softly at the Tequila comment. "How on earth can I resist," she replied saracastically, and then finally gave in, smiling softly.

"Alright." She could leave the paperwork. Just once. Only once.
