Varimathras was not exactly worried, but not calm either. He had been told to guard the children, and had agreed. After all, he wasn't that fond of the thought of being hounded by rabid students.

So, he stood there silently, arms crossed and watching. Always watching.

"That's pretty much the same for all the common rooms." Kyon answered, tilting his head a bit.

"More pressing concerns? Not where I'm sitting. From what I gather some spell has gone wrong again because the Headmaster must have been dropped on his head as a child, and it will be cleared up within a week as usual. Only this time I'm not involved for which I am thankful. I just have to worry about my parents killing me over my poor grades, which with the holidays approaching is more and more likely."

"Does it look like I'm protesting? I'm staying put aren't I?" Kyon said sarcastically, with a shrug. "I'm merely pointing out this common room or that one, it's probably all the same."

"It seems to me like at least once a month something like this happens and usually it doesn't turn out well when you're affected because you wind up doing something stupid. It's really disruptive to the educational process. It's not that I don't care exactly, it's just that it's temporary, it always is, anyone dangerous is going to be contained, as they always are, and if I spent my time worrying about the headmaster's spells...well at least I'd have a plausible excuse for my poor grades. Mind you I don't think my parents would buy it." Kyon frowned a little at her.

"It's not self-absorption, it's not that I think I'm better or something but I have some real pressing concerns in my life as, I'm sure, do you and dropping them monthly for a week is really eating up my time."

Kyon just sighed heavily. It wasn't that he had to be polite or anything it was just that he did his best to be even tempered and he was for the most part.

"Look, I get that I'm at this school with a bunch of geniuses or whatever but some of us have some real difficulty doing things and you know, organization isn't going to help me any more then these little problems are. Just because I don't want to be involved doesn't mean that I don't care or I'm lamenting about it...wait that means like, whining or whatever right? Gah." Kyon rubbed his forehead a bit. "I'm not. But to me there are more important things like not getting killed when I see my parents."

Kyon wasn't really sure why this girl was so mad at him, but it didn't help anything.

[Even though I can't do small text, yes. XD I will be home around 4:30 EST and I am not working Monday, so score there and we can just MARATHON IT UP! <3]

Kyon sighed again. "It helps a little with assignments but I don't remember much when I sit down to tests which is not what the teachers want to hear. I'm okay at Phys Ed though."

He tilted his head. "I tried to get a study group going but I think most people are really busy. So I'm on my own. Haruhi was going to help me but every time she's involved I think it hurts my grades more."
