Toph had been watching Pit during meal times for a while. She had been upset that he couldn't remember her, and she decided to change that. Feeling where Pit was, she pulled out her wand, stood up from her seat and charmed an uneaten apple that was next to her plate. "Wingardium leviosa!"
The apple rose from it's spot, and Toph flicked her wrist and sent it flying towards Pit's direction, listening carefully for a satisfying 'thonk.'
At this point Pit was still in mid-stretch, a most unfortunate position as the perfectly aimed apple smacked him square in the back of his head. The shock, incidentally, had him fall flat on his back with a joint yelp and 'thud'.
He didn't get up, preferring to play it cool. It was probably safest to stay on the ground, anyway. Whatever that was from, he certainly didn't want to risk a follow-up attack. "What the..."
Toph nodded in a very satisfactory manner, and chuckled when she felt the poor Hufflepuff hit the floor. Not wanting to eat a bruised fruit, she grabbed another from the table and walked over to the Hufflepuff table and leaned over Pit.
"Remember me now?" She took a bite out of the apple and waited for an answer.
Pit stared. He stared. And stared some more. Then he blinked for added measure. "Um..." a frown gave away his obvious cluelessness, and he pushed himself up to a cross-legged position next to the girl who used to be his closest friend.
"You know, that might've even made things worse." he scratched his head with a shrug, "My best guess... Toph?" the amnesiac cringed, hoping he was right. He didn't want another apple to the head. She certainly fit the profile of the girl who wrote him in his latest journal entry...
