A smirk touched Karin's lips as felt Heiral's magic approaching. She shivered slightly as it washed over her - nowhere near the effect that Sasuke's magic had, but good enough that she falt that instinctual need to spend more time around it rise up a little.
Still humming, she flicked a page with relish and discovered another out-dating theory. Reaching for the post-it's, she scrawled the correction out and stuck it onto the page.
Now there really was something strange going on. What in the hell was a girl--the dumbest in the school, some had said--doing with post-its, sticking them in a book about dark magic with notes on the side?
This was just plain bizarre. Had he misjudged her?
"You go quite far in order to garner attention, Carmody, I will give you that."
Aaaand there it was. Hook, line, and now to work on the sinker. She'd caught his interest now, though, and that was the main thing.
"I don't know what you're talking about," she sang. One of her nails caught her eye as she went to turn the page, and she scowled at it. The polish was chipped. "Oh, brilliant. Just brilliant," she groused, pulling out the spare bottle she kept with her at all times to touch it up. Waving her hand around a little to dry it, she continued to flicked through the pages of the heavy tome.
