Curiosity... Will probably embarrass the cat. XD scroll_heir August 13 2009, 03:05:04 UTC
Catty was sneaking back upstairs (after having snuck into the kitchens to gra a few late-night snacks), being a quiet as she could. She really didn't need a professor to see her with some leftovers. Not again, anyway.

She stopped, though, when she heard voices coming from one of the rooms she was passing by. Unable to help herself, she pressed herself against the wall, listening in. It sounded like... Harry. And somebody else. Not a voice she recognized.

Shrugging, she opened the door softly, poking her head into the room. "Harry?" Catty had to blink a few times, her eyes quickly scanning the room. No other body. Had Hogwarts finally cracked the poor guy?

Ironically, it was the skull who broke the tension. "I'm not surprised. Harry's always been a heck of a lot brighter than he lets on, even if what he knows about women I could juggle. Speaking of, what are you kids learning here exactly?"

Letting out an easy breath, Harry did his best to relax the tension in his body. He knew his reaction had disturbed the girls, and he felt a flash of guilt for that. It was just that the wounds associated with that name were still raw, and hearing it seemed to undo all the healing he had been through in a moment. He could still feel the heat of the flames, hear the scrams.

Shaking his head, Harry deliberately unclenched his fists, and turned back to Bob. "Well, the big ones this week are Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark arts. We're doing Stupify."

"Stupify? I could teach you a spell that would knock the pants off that kid's toy!"

Kazumi finally smiled a little again, "I've noticed. He usually catches on pretty quickly to a spell. Sometimes it might take him awhile to implement it perfectly, but he's certainly improving at a rapid pace." She was mostly thinking of his performance in Transfiguration and Charms, she knew he was practically the star pupil of DADA.

Now her sincere smile turned into a sneer as the glint in her eye came back, "That wouldn't be a literal spell to knock the pants off someone, would it?"

In reflex, Catty smiled, though it was a lot smaller than usual. She realy didn't have Harry in her classes, since the were in different years, except for that one Charms class. And well... She wasn't exactly paying attention.

"Oh? Is that what you guys are learing in Defense?" Catty was good at Stupify. And a good thing, too. She knew that she'd need it someday.

She knew that one day, her curiosity would kill her. Until then... "How exactly do you knock the pants off?"

Harry smiled back at the two girls, his own expression a little less shaky than before. "Thanks Kazumi, but it really wasn't me, I had a great tutor." Glancing at Catty he added, "Yep, we're reviewing the effects of stunning spells."

Bob of course brightened at the girl's questions. "Actually, now that you ask, it's not the spell I was thinking of, but I do know a spell that can knock pants off. Along with everything else." Again Bob somehow gave the impression that he was wiggling his non-existent eyebrows.

"Bob!" Harry replied, exasperated.

"Oh? Do tell. I heard about a kid wizard once who sneezed and accidentally made someone's clothes disappear," Kazumi replied. A spell like that could be pretty hilarious and useful. Kazumi was certainly one of the more devious Ravenclaws.

Catty smiled and shook her head. "Man, I love the stunning spell. It's gotten me out of a few odd situations before."

Even though the brunette hadn't really meant it, sometimes she couldn't help expressing her child-like glee, especially when hearing about a fun new spell. She clapped her hands together, eyes brightening at the prospect. A spell like that... Could be useful in pranks. "Man, I really wish I had some of those books now!"

Bob grinned. "Ah, the old sneeze and shred clothes, that one's a classic. You know, maybe I can give you a free sample..."

For his part, Harry could feel a headache coming on. "Girls, I'm not sure this is the best idea."

Thought...at least they were smiling again...
