Having received the most recent message from Naruto, Barry slammed his journal shut and grinned so widely that his head might as well have popped off right then and there. It took him a second to compose himself enough to prepare for the outing; he was definitely excited at the prospect of summoning giant frogs, but it totally wouldn't do if he were to forget to put his shoes on again. He'd learned not to do that... the hard way.

Grabbing a coat and tossing it on over his robes, he barely took the time to tie his shoes before bounding down into the common room. He glanced around for a moment and headed over to Naruto, having spotted him almost instantly.

"Heya!"

Having had a clone take his journal back up to his room the moment he'd finished writing the last message (hey, why hadn't he just got the clone to write it in the first place?) Naruto waved and grinned at Barry. "Hey!"

He started walking towards the portrait hole. "C'mon, we should probably go to Hogsmeade. I'll show you how to sneak out of the castle..."

He really wanted to go to Hogsmeade, mainly because, well...he really, really, really didn't want any teachers to catch him summoning a giant toad. Also, if a giant toad did pop up, he didn't want it to run away or something and crush people. That would be...horrific.

"Eeee, okay! This is going to be so awesome!"

Barry was glad to get moving so soon. If he stood idle for too long, he just might've started jogging in place! And the quicker they got there, the better - he wasn't sure of the last time he'd been so excited for something, but then, Barry was so easily excited that it had probably been the week before or something.

And sneaking out... that wasn't something he'd done before. Since he was only a first-year student, he hadn't been to Hogsmeade either. Clearly, this was going to be quite the little adventure for two of them, so he eagerly followed after Naruto.

Naruto checked that Barry had a protective jacket on or something; they might be out in Hogsmeade for a while, and it got cold at night. Well, if worse came to worst, he could always get a clone to give a jacket to Barry or something.

Climbing out of the portrait hole carefully, anxious to make sure that the Fat Lady saw nothing more than two students on their way down to the Great Hall, perhaps, Naruto took a winding route through the school, making sure that Barry was always behind him and no mischievous door or wall snatched the all-important scroll from him.

He arrived at last at a statue near the Great Hall, a statue that brought back memories of earlier in the year. With a slight, wistful smile on his face, he tapped the statue with his wand.

It slid open, revealing a low crawlway.

"Here," he said, "This way, we can go to Hogsmeade." He dropped to his knees.
