Mia probably should have expected the tacklehug that rounded the corner, but at least the door managed to close itself as her sister flung herself into Mia's arms. Mia caught her with a soft 'oof,' wrapping Maya up in her arms and holding on as long as Maya needed her to. Mia had always been there for Maya, just as Maya had always been there for Mia, and the elder Fey considered this part of being a sister. She didn't mind it at all, perhaps even liked it. Besides, they never got enough time to just be sisters, so a private talk without anyone else near, not even Diego for now, was more than welcome.
It was a good thing Mai really didn't need to breathe; Maya's hold on her was pretty strong

Mia smiled at her sister's exclamation about the Steel Samurai, knowing how much Maya adored that show. If Mia had been a couple years younger, she probably would have like that series as well. As it was, Maya was her entire source of information about it and probably always would be, which was just as well with her. At least she never had to worry about missing an episode because of casework or something
