Name(s): Seifer, Toph, Pallas Location: Just outside of the kitchen/Inside of the kitchen Week: 35 Time: Late Monday Evening Rating: PG for possible language
With Iroh's death came a great depression for Toph. She had only left the dorm room to go to the bathroom today, as she didn't want to be around anyone. She didn't even go to get food.
Now her stomach was rumbling too much for her to ignore, and she decided to go down to the kitchens to grab something to shut her stomach up. She was surprised to feel that someone was walking around with....crutches? Squeaky crutches at that. It wasn't long before she heard them.
It took her a while, but she did remember that Seifer had been kept in the hospital wing for a while. Maybe it was him. It certainly wasn't a professor. Turning the corner, she faced the cripple. "Is that Seifer?"
Seifer heard barefoot steps against the stone floor as he came closer to the kitchen. While this wasn't unusual for someone who usually prowled the late nights from insomnia as he remembered in his prefect sweeps, he thought the foot steps sounded too casual and rather hard. He could only think of one person who could be like that...
and it was. Suddenly, the short Gryffindor who used to take swordfighting lessons with Seifer was standing in front of him. Seifer nearly fell over the weak crutches out of shock when Toph spoke out in the middle of the dark. He whispered carefully but angrily, "Toph...what are you doing here? Do you have any idea what time it is?"
Toph didn't care about talking out loud. She could feel that there weren't any professors nearby. "I could ask you the same thing. I'm hungry."
She wanted to shove Seifer out of the way, but thought that such a move was a bit low for her since he was hurt, so she just walked around him. "There aren't any teachers around. You don't have to whisper."
Seifer was taken back by Toph's willingness to speak so loudly at that time in the evening. "Again, do you have any idea what time it is? There isn't anyone around, but there are those who may be sleeping!" When the question was turned to him, he deflected it with an unhonest reply. "I was getting a bag of ice for my knee. Is that a problem with you, princess?"
Then, his stomach began to unleash a menacing growl that forced his hand to his gut and grip. He whimpered softly, trying to mute it before Toph could understand why he was truly down there.
