Haruhi toyed with her lunch, pushing the peas back and forth across the plate. Auron's threat of taking away housepoints had really irritated her, especially seeing as some of those she had earned herself! She was going to catch this prankster if-
There was a buzz in her pocket, signalling that someone had triggered the spell she'd set up on the lock on Auron's classroom. She dropped her fork and jumped to her feet, running for the exit and trying to avoid crashing into the people in her way. It was the prankster! She was sure of it! And now she would be the one to catch them!
A minute or two later she arrived breathlessly at the classroom; the door open just a crack. Stopping to catch her breath, Haruhi looked through. Sure enough, someone was standing near the teacher's desk. Haruhi grinned.
"Ha! I've caught you red-handed!" she declared loudly, throwing the door open and pointing a dramatic finger at the figure. She was assuming, of course, that anyone breaking into the teacher's room must be the culpript. It made sense, right?
Toph had felt that someone was coming, so she hid the box of tacks in her pocket. She was still forgetting that she hadn't put an invisibility spell on the ones that were still in the professor's chair.
She stood up and turned around to face her accuser. "I don't know what you're talking about. I just left my book in here, but I can't find it."
Haruhi narrowed her eyes and gave the girl a skeptical look at the excuse. "And you broke into a classroom to get it?" Haruhi's tone of voice was dripping with disbelief.
Her eyes swept the room for any signs of mischeif and stopped when she spotted a glint on the teacher's chair.
"What are these then~?!" she questioned, rushing over to pick up a tack and look at it more closely. "Books, hmm?"
Toph stopped mid sentence when she felt the girl hold up one of her tacks. "I don't know where those came from."
Hopefully, this girl would be stupid enough to believe her and leave. She wondered how she had found them though., and then remembered she forgot to make them invisible.
