Toph walked in to potions in a huff. This was never her favorite class, and the dungeon floor was always cold, wet, and just plain nasty to her feet. She had gotten into the habit of bringing towels to cover her feet while she worked on her potion. On time, she dropped a scalding hot potion on to her bare foot. It had hurt for a month. She wasn't going to let that experience be repeated.
Sitting down at her usual seat, Toph got out her equipment and waited for class to begin.

Howl glanced around the room once all of the students arrived. As expected, they had immediately paired up (since the tables were set up just for that), except for one unfortunate create. It was no surprise, however, since the girl was blind. It seemed most didn't want to work with someone who had the ability to immediately mess up any potion.
"We'll be working on the Babbling Beverage," he said to the class, taking a step forwards. "Everything you need is already on the board, I expect you to work with a partner on this one. I'll be working with Bei Fong if you need anything. I'll be around when your potion simmers to see how everyone's doing," he continued, immediately making his way to the empty seat next to Toph. This was a win-win situation for Howl. By working with Toph it would assure he had no terrible mess to clean up (he hoped, anyways) as well as less people would ask him stupid questions if he busied himself working with her.

"I don't need any help you know," Toph lied as she felt the professor take a seat next to her. He had done this last year too, but until after she tried a potion on her own. Let's just say that it wasn't a good day for anyone in that room.
Toph hated being dependent on anything. She just wanted to be herself, to be her own person, to make her own way in the world. Potions was her least favorite class because she could never do any of the classwork on her own. It was the only time she truly hated being blind.

Pallas liked potions class. She liked many of her classes, though she didn't often express this outwardly. Potions class was a fine time to mix up thins and make other things. There didn't seem to be any end to what one could do with potions. And she'd thought really hard on the topic.
It was becoming common practice for Pallas to show up first to class, it seemed. This was of course ample reason for her to poke fun at Ravenclaws, and it also gave her time to get comfortable and do whatever else she needed to do before class. Like leave small "gifts" in seats. She hadn't done so yet, but it there were many days in the year left.
"Hi hi Professor Pendragon!" She cheered, waving as she took a seat.

Potions had never been one of Al's favorite subjects. He was good at it, sure. He got good marks in all of his classes, but of course he couldn't like all of them, could he?
"Hello, Professor," he smiled. Just because he didn't particularly like the class, that was no excuse to not be friendly.

Katara liked potions well enough. The professor, however, she had mixed feelings about. The simple fact most of her female classmates (and a few males) were so obsessively enchanted by his every word grated on her nerves just a bit.
Still, the dark-haired girl strolled into class and took her seat, greeting the professor with a nod. "Hello Professor."

Subaru was surprised when he was the first into the classroom. He nodded to the professor as he walked to the front of the room, then bowed to him. "My name is Subaru Sumeragi. I hope to learn much in your class, Pedra--Professor Pendragon." He bowed again, then went to a seat toward the front.

Makoto silently trudged into the classroom, her hand resting upon her shoulder gripping her brown satchel as it rested at her back. She managed to just catch the exchange between Subaru and Howl, a faint grin upon her face. She knew that accent. It brought back fond memories of the summer spent with her Japanese relatives.
Then she saw him. The professor. The one reason she always showed up on time to potions class. He was gorgeous. Absolutely perfect. She couldn't pull her eyes away, even as she clumsily made her way to a seat and sat down right in the front row.
"Hello Professor Pendragon~!" She was quite enthusiastic in her greeting.

Mukuro came in, smiling impassively.
"Good morning, Professor" He said with a cordial nod of his head as he took his seat. He looked entirely comfortable down in the dungeons, he was a slytherin after all.
Therefore, he should make sure everyone believed he excelled at potions.

Sasuke walked in. Rolling his shoulders (which had been aching today for some reason--he hadn't worked out all that strenuously the day before), he sat down an dprepared for class.

Tossing her here over her shoulder, Ino strolled calmly into the Potions room. The day had gotten off to a rough start, but she could do this. Even if there was no sorry chance in hell that Sakura would skip this class.
She spotted the desk that she and Sakura had ritualistically shared (through thick and thin) for the last few years and quickly turned away. A chirpy voice and red hair caught her attention and she slid into the chair closet to Karin. Sakura most likely wouldn't want to sit anywhere near the Slytherin girl, so proximity would provide some safety.

She smirked happily. If there was one thing Karin loved, it was irritating Sasuke Uchiha.
