Yes. In the eyes of the Ministry, murder is murder. Unfortunately, Edea has to stand trial regardless of the circumstances.

Ultimecia should never have been able to attack the castle, I agree. However, that the Dementors failed to remove her soul will certainly be taken into account at the trial. I am confident that they are just carrying out a formality.

I do not think they are blaming Edea, considering the circumstances. Killing is killing, however, and thus they are holding a trial.
