[The script is painfully neat and elegant, the handwriting slightly slanted. Each word is a bit slow in coming. Deliberate.]At the risk of sounding trite, it seems I have missed a great deal. It serves as a testament to the strength of those traversing these halls that education still continues, despite all...interruptions ( Read more... )

How wonderful. Should I tell father or mother you say hello then?

Please do. Are your parents well?

Family often requires sacrifice.

Hello, my name is Anthy Himemiya.

I don't think of it as a sacrifice, merely duty.

Hello, Miss Himemiya. Are you a new student?

How lucky. You are a very dedicated sister, then.

Yes, just this week. It hasn't been long.

Mm. I try my best.

I see. Did you attend Beauxbatons, by any chance? Or Durmstrang?

Thank you, Mister Zoello. She's much better, yes. How have you been?

I've been fine. I only recently dusted off this journal of mine, though, so perhaps I have also been out of the loop.

These books are quite easy to misplace. I trust you escaped from the most recent occurrence unscathed?

[another slytherin? boo. hiss.]

You'd rather be here than at home?

Reply

sistercest May 12 2010, 21:18:36 UTC
I would, yes. My home environment is strained: my sister has been ill since infancy and my parents are often stressed and worried over her.

[The handwriting shows up faster now, heavier-handed.] ...I did not think finding school to be a reprieve from watching my sister suffer would be unusual.

I. Oh. Um, man, I'm sorry, that really-that's awful.

But that's what family is for, right? You're supposed to be there for each other when bad stuff happens. I can see why they're worried. I don't know what I would do if anyone in my family got sick like that.

Ah, it's quite fine. You had no way of knowing, mister...? [She trails off on this -- expecting a response on the name.]

Indeed. It is sometimes...difficult, however, to remain optimistic in such trying circumstances, you understand. I am happy you have not been afflicted with such misfortune; I would not wish such a thing on anyone.

Ah, sorry. I hope your sister is alright. I wish medicine could fix everything...

Thank you.

She's doing much better now. Thank you for your well-wishes. Ah, if only it could...

...Ah, but I've forgotten my manners. Are you a new student?

I'm glad it worked out!! And, um, not new, although I was gone for part of my second year, and I guess I haven't met too many of the older students. My name is Yellow Caballero!

Ah, then it is a pleasure to meet you, Mister Caballero. I admit not being very well acquainted with the younger students, as I must frequently return home. What is your House, out of curiousity?
