As for blood ties, you're an idiot. HAHAHA. It's on foxtel, but my gosh it's shit. It is like the bad version of buffy. Don't get me wrong, I still love watching it. The stories themselves are ok, but the scripts and actors make me cringe.
You need to read the Sookie Stackhouse Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris, and then download True Blood. Best books. Best show. Definitely less of a fantasy/demon/mythical element. It's a much more realistic set of vampire stories (if that can be said for any story containing imaginary creatures...)
